Here’s the shorter version of the house hunting story. Basically, we started hunting a week before we actually made our purchase. Prior to, I would spend hours online, looking, searching for the perfect home. At first, we weren’t sure whether we wanted to buy a home that was starting from scratch or if we wanted a home that already had some character. We decided to buy brand new, & fully indulge in the first time home buying experience. Staying in Misissauga was definitely our first choice, but it was just out of our price range, by about $50-70K. We looked into moving to Castlemore (a developing communiting in North Brampton) & I wanted, so badly to move to Milton. Ryan was not having it & completely refused the idea. I begged, I pleaded, but he didn’t not budge. I decided to just leave it alone, it was battle I knew I wasn’t going to win. Until one Sunday afternoon, he said to me, “Let’s go and drive around Milton, check out the homes, the area.” I beamed inside & out. That was Sunday, the following Monday (as in the day after) we bought our home.
Being in the sales office was, overwhelming. On that Sunday visit, there were TWO lots left of the size we wanted to buy, TWO. I felt like I couldn’t make a decision that was THIS big right on the spot, even though it was exactly what we wanted. We decided to leave the sales office & hope that when we returned another time, God would have a plan for us. We returned the next morning with Carissa & Alex (my cousin & her long-time, should already be fiance) & low and behold, the TWO lots … were still there. Those two lots, were ours.

We chose elevation B, so instead of a bigger porch, we get a bay window in the parlour. Our first choice was elevation C, the main reason for the change was because C had wood paneling on the front of the house. We opted out for aluminum on the siding instead, & it was a $9K reduction in the sales price.
